Joss Stone Welcomes Baby Boy Through Adoption, Expanding Her Family With Cody DaLuz
British singer-songwriter Joss Stone, 37, and her husband Cody DaLuz, 34, have joyfully announced the arrival of their third child, Bear, through adoption. The Grammy-winning artist shared the heartwarming news on Instagram, expressing deep gratitude for the process and the love that brought Bear into their lives.
“This is what happened to us last Monday. We cannot quite believe it. We are in love, big time, with this little guy,” Stone wrote alongside an emotional video montage chronicling their adoption journey. She also honored Bear’s birth mother, describing her decision to create an adoption plan as an act of "selfless love."
The video captured candid moments, including DaLuz telling the couple’s other children, Violet (3) and Shackleton (2), about their new sibling. “We have a baby coming home,” he said. Stone added, “We can’t wait. We’re so excited.”
The couple shared some of the challenges they faced, including a mix-up that led them to the wrong hospital before meeting Bear for the first time. The touching reel also showcased DaLuz holding the newborn, saying, “We’re so happy you’re here. I love you.”
Bear spent 36 days in the neonatal intensive care unit before being discharged just in time for Thanksgiving. Stone thanked the NICU nurses who cared for him, calling them “beautiful angels.”
Stone reflected on her gratitude for Bear’s birth mother. “Forever grateful to his tummy mummy for giving him life and more selfless love than I thought was possible. Turns out dreams do come true,” she wrote.
This latest chapter adds to the couple’s growing family and follows their journey through highs and lows. After welcoming their daughter Violet in 2020, the couple experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage in 2022. Later that year, they celebrated the arrival of their son Shackleton.
Stone has previously spoken about the joy her children bring to her life. “Violet is totally in love with Shackleton, always checking on him, giving him kisses and hugs,” she told Us Weekly. “It’s the sweetest thing to watch.”
Now, with Bear completing their family, Stone and DaLuz embrace their roles as parents of three, sharing their story of love, resilience, and gratitude with the world.
